Have you ever felt like you wanted to do something that was more “you”? Have you felt like you have yet to find out who you are, and what your purpose is? I found my purpose in flames and fire, and in this little article, I wanted to share something with you that I haven’t really gone into before…

Make Money Doing What You Love

I’ve avoided this topic to some degree, because it’s everywhere. But then I realized that it might be because it has been my reality for 10 years, so the algorithm is definitely creating perceptions for me.

For this to make sense, then, I think we need to go back to the basics, and then apply those to understand how this is not only possible, but extremely simple to do.

As I’m writing this, I also realize that in our modern age, we should redefine money as a whole, because digital currency is finding its balance as we speak. The only things we need to agree upon before going into this, are:

1. 1984 is vastly different than 2024
2. We need to keep an open mind

It’s not really harder than that. In 1984, the internet wasn’t a thing. Social media had not been invented. Information was harder to come by.

In 2024, internet is a requirement for most of our world to work. Our fridge is connected to the cloud. Social media has shaped society beyond what we could’ve prepared for. Information is abundant to the degree that it’s commodity.

If you had good information in the 1700s, you could create an empire, as many did. Their families are to be found in many high-ranking places to this day.

Today, if you go to ChatGPT, you can create your own MRI machine, sourcing and creating the parts themselves – without any formal education or experience.

With that one fact; that OpenAI’s ChatGPT is free for basic use – all excuses fall off by the wayside if a person desires something in life. Anything in life. Because even with no experience, now you can create a plan to get there.

It all depends on the questions we ask, so ask the right questions for yourself.

Now, how to make money doing what you know with this information?

Ask how to turn your passion into an income, and form a plan. Then follow that plan. I will go more in detail, but essentially, that is what it comes down to.

You need to actually begin, and then you’ll start seeing aligned opportunities, but only when you are ready to actually see them. Many people can have “the answer” shouted in their face, and they still won’t hear what’s being said.

How I personally did it (from a high level)

In 2012, I started uploading to YouTube. I continued this for a while and in 2017 I went hard when I did my 100 Day Challenge.

100 videos in 100 Days. These videos helped me find my voice, and I got more comfortable with speaking to a camera, which then evolved into what I do today.

I create videos with a message, a story, a response, whatever have you. I then upload it to YouTube and enter necessary information so that the “avatar” I am speaking to will hear me.

Picture this;

I am at a coffee-shop, and I am surrounded by people of all kinds. At this moment, I want to speak to a Spanish-speaker for some reason.

How do I find such a person?

I would do my best to appeal to that person, so if I care enough, I would know something specific about this person. In this case, maybe I want them to be Chilean. So I get up to a higher ground, and then shout “Concha su madre!”. Now, if there are Chileans in the crowd, odds are that they would swivel instantly, because that phrase is very Chile-central, and not many others would care if they heard it. If they cared, maybe they wouldn’t react or respond.

With this approach, I picture the person I want to talk to on the other side of the camera, and I get to talking.

Now, picture this opportunity:

You have just recorded a video that perfectly encapsulates something that you do. It’s epic. Dogs weep and rainbows quiver as the viewer experience your pure magic. At the end of the video, you have a little snippet of text that says “you can find more at [your website/creation]”.

If that video had it all, you have effectively cloned yourself. If you have done the work and put together a website with some simple systems to tie it all together, all you need is to get eyeballs on that video or that website.

You see? Let’s not get into the whole “But I can’t because”, as this is the way I did it. Essentially, it’s communication, so how you share your magic is completely up to what you want to do. Point being, it doesn’t have to be super complicated.

Heck, let’s show how to do it without a website

They are there because one of them is a Seeker of knowledge, and the other is a Mentor who possess this knowledge.

They agree to enter a professional relationship, but the mentor doesn’t have a website. He is a nomad of the jungle lands, and are rarely seen out in the open. However, he has downloaded an app that allows him to transfer money from one account to another, and the card he got with the app, allows him to buy what he needs and sustain his lifestyle.

The app he downloaded was Revolut. Simply said, it’s a new way to money. It’s an experience. And because the mentor has this, he can easily show his mentee how to use this app, and then they transfer the funds they agreed upon.

They enjoy the rest of the evening with no screen, and a new journey has begun.

See? It’s not that complicated. The main excuse here would be that the person doesn’t have Revolut. The fix is both simple and free…

Revolut might just be the best thing I ever came across for money management, crypto and normal.

So, why are not everyone out there doing it?

Simple. They haven’t done the work that allows them to fully embody such a reality. It takes steps, work, experience, and integration. Although the elements of the system can be super simple, the act of asking someone to pay you for a service you will provide is a rite of passage in itself. You won’t understand until you’ve actually tried, so relatively easy fix.

It requires that open mind again. We simply have to do the thing. We dream, envision, set goals, create plans, follow the plans with discipline and consistency, and take it one step at a time – always Now.

It took me a long while to understand this. And in doing so, I also appreciated the years I have put into my own journey. My experience became valuable all of a sudden, where as before, I had not seen my past as anything special or different. Coming from $4M in debt, a blood clot, 3 years in prison, the deportation of my family, etc, I realized that maybe it was my perspective of reality that wasn’t “normal”, and maybe that in itself was the value.

Many of us feel like this. We have something to share, but we don’t do it because [insert all the normal excuses on the journey here], so we don’t even try.

Trust me when I say that you have nothing to lose and everything to win by being your whole integrated and aligned self. It just takes some work to get to the balance.

So, how to start?

Start asking those questions to the right people in the right places.

Seek advice from those who HAVE what you want, not those who limit what’s possible based on hear-say and fear.
